Foodies Wanted for Flavorsome Fundraising
Pizza Republica selects Colorado Marrow Donor Program as beneficiary
DENVER (Feb. 2, 2010) – Bonfils Blood Center's Colorado Marrow Donor Program (CMDP) and Pizza Republica, a charming Italian trattoria situated in the Denver Tech Center, invite you to a flavorsome fundraising event. Pizza Republica, located at 5375 Landmark Place #133 in Greenwood Village, Colo., selected CMDP to receive a donation equivalent to 15 percent of all food and wine sales on Monday, Feb. 15 from 5 to 10 p.m. as part of the restaurant's ongoing "Charity Monday" program. To participate, simply make a reservation at opentable.com or call 720.489.2030. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Each day, thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases hope for a marrow donor who can make their transplant possible. Seventy percent of these patients do not have a donor in their family. Funds raised at the from the Charity Monday event will offset the cost of adding new potential donors to the Be The Match RegistrySM. Nosh and nibble for a cause and give hope to thousands of patients suffering from blood-related diseases.
The CMDP, administered by Bonfils Blood Center, has two primary initiatives – to facilitate stem cell and marrow transplants to give patients with blood-related diseases a chance for survival and to recruit more potential donors to the Be The Match RegistrySM. Since its inception in 1989, CMDP has added more than 75,000 potential donors to the registry and has facilitated more than 400 blood stem cell or marrow transplants and more than 50 cord blood transplants to support patients in need all over the world. For more information about Bonfils’ CMDP or to schedule a marrow drive, please call 303.363.2345.
