Community Partners Appreciation Events
Bonfils rang in 2010 honoring nearly 700 blood donors who reached 10 gallons or more in 2009, as well as financial contributors, community partners, marrow donors, Bonfils ambassadors, gold level blood-drive host organizations and volunteers. Eight awards were given at the reception to members of the Bonfils community who went above and beyond to support the blood center’s mission to save and enhance lives in 2009.
 
 
 
High Gallon Donor Celebrations
Donor Bill Burnham celebrated his 60-gallon milestone at Bonfils' Lowry Community Donor Center and was presented with a diamond lapel pin by Bonfils President and CEO Tom Puckett. Over the last 29 years, Burnham's selfless donations have saved and enhanced the lives of more than 1,440 patients.
 
Community Lifelines
Cancer survivor and blood recipient Jason Lansdown got the chance to meet and personally thank many of his 20 blood donors at a special eventon Aug. 20, 2009. The event featured remarks from Bonfils President and CEO Tom Puckett and Mimi Roberson, president and CEO of P/SL and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at P/SL as well as Lansdown’s surgeon Ronald R. Hugate, MD.
 
Rapids Rally for Donors
Bonfils' Colorado Marrow Donor Program (CMDP) and the Colorado Rapids teamed up for the inaugural Rapids Rally for Donors marrow donor recruitment drive at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. Bonfils welcomed 120 people to the event, added 80 individuals to the Be The Match Registry (including three Colorado Rapids players) and performed blood typing on 35 potential blood donors.
  
Drive for Life
October 13, 2009 marked the 12th year of Drive for Life, which is presented annually by Bonfils Blood Center and the Denver Broncos and is generously sponsored by CBS4, FM Sportsradio 104.3 The FAN and The Denver Post. In 2009, Bonfils hosted nearly 2,400 fans for life at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
