Community Partners Appreciation Event
In 2013 Bonfils hosted its10th annual appreciation reception honoring nearly 700 blood donors who reached 10 gallons or more in 2012, as well as financial contributors, community and healthcare partners, marrow/stem cell donors, Bonfils ambassadors, gold level blood drive host organizations and volunteers. Six awards were given at the reception to members of the Bonfils community who went above and beyond to supporting our mission in 2012.

Give LIVE
Kicking off our 70th anniversary celebration, Bonfils Blood Center held our first-ever benefit concert – Give LIVE – on Valentine’s Day. Presented by FirstBank and featuring the Denver-based band DeVotchKa, Give LIVE raised nearly $130,000 through sponsorship, ticket sales and general gifts to help Bonfils Blood Center save and enhance lives throughout our community and beyond.

Celebrating our Southern Colorado Supporters
Every June, Bonfils honors our southern Colorado partners and community members that contribute to our success. More than 500 of Bonfils' five-gallon and above blood donors and supporters were honored for their lifesaving work.

Chip in for Life
On August 26, 2012, a record 100 golfers representing 28 partner organizations and including five individual supporters teed off at Glenmoor Country Club for Bonfils Blood Center’s 9th annual Chip in for Life golf benefit raising nearly $100,000 to further our lifesaving mission.

Drive for Life
October 2, 2012 marked the 15th year of Drive for Life, which is presented annually by Bonfils Blood Center and the Denver Broncos and is generously sponsored by 9News, Sportsradio 104.3 The FAN and The Denver Post. Nearly 1,500 fans celebrated and donated to save lives at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

High Gallon Donor Celebrations
In 2012 Bonfils celebrated five high-gallon donors. Bonfils' top donor, Bill Cell, made his 640th donation reaching the 80-gallon mark after 66 years. Pueblo West resident David Mihalick joined the ranks of only nine other Bonfils donors by hitting the 60-gallon donation mark. Virgil Olson and Jack Joyce also joined the 60-gallon club and Rusty Grout reached his 50-gallon milestone.



Community Lifelines
Blood recipient Dianna Cillessen got the chance to meet and personally thank 11 of her 44 blood donors at a special event on Dec. 6, 2012. The event featured remarks from Bonfils President and CEO Bryan Krueger as well as the doctors from Exempla Lutheran Medical Center.
